Nothing about him arrives all at once. First there is the impression of heat somewhere beneath the surface, controlled enough to stay quiet, strong enough to make you notice. He has learned that intensity carries further when it does not need to announce itself.
Dark incense rises first, lit by the dry warmth of cardamom. Beneath the smoke, earthy patchouli and root-like vetiver give the fragrance weight, turning spice into something deeper and more grounded. The heat remains, but now it feels contained rather than exposed.
At the base, resinous labdanum gathers around dry cedarwood, leaving a dark amber warmth that seems to hold its shape long after everything else has settled. He never needed the flame to be visible. The evidence is in what remains after it passes.
